THIS WEEK — A Space for Your Teen to Hear Truth
As parents, we all see it. The pressure our kids carry. The uncertainty. The quiet questions they don’t always say out loud. Some days they seem fine… and other days, something just feels off. And if we’re honest, it’s not always easy to know how to help. That’s why we created THIS WEEK. Not just another message. Not just another playlist. But a space where teens can hear truth in a way that meets them where they are. Each episode is built around real struggles they’re facing—fear, identity, pressure, purpose—and pairs a short, direct message with music that reinforces it. It’s designed to be something they can listen to on their own, or something you can share with them when you don’t quite have the words. This week’s message focuses on fear—what it means, where it shows up, and how sometimes it’s not a signal to stop, but a sign they’re stepping into something meaningful. Our heart isn’t to replace your voice as a parent. It’s to support it. To give your teen another place to hear encouragement, truth, and direction—especially in moments when they may be more open to listening. You can listen together… or simply point them to it and let it speak for itself. THIS WEEK airs daily at 12PM and 7PM (CST) Listen anytime at: holysyncradio.com Because sometimes… one message can shift an entire week. |
If Your Teen Is Carrying Something They Won’t Talk About
There are things your teen may be carrying… that they’ve never said out loud. Not because they don’t want help. But because they don’t know how to explain it.
Sometimes it looks like mood changes. Shutting down. Getting quiet. Getting frustrated over small things. And sometimes… it looks like nothing at all.
But underneath, there can be a quiet belief forming: “It’s my fault.” “Something is wrong with me.”
And the truth is— they may be carrying something they were never meant to carry. Something they didn’t understand at the time. Something they didn’t have the tools to process.
As a parent, this can be hard because you want to fix it. You want to protect them. You want to take the weight off their shoulders.
But sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is create space. Space to listen. Space to not react too quickly. Space to let them open up at their own pace.
You don’t need to have the perfect words. Sometimes it’s as simple as asking:
“Is there anything you’ve been carrying that you haven’t told me yet?”
And when they do open up—remind them of this: What happened to you is not your identity. And it’s not your fault.
This week on “This Week,” we’re speaking directly to students about this. If you think your teen needs to hear it, listen together or share it with them.
